I've always loved my back. I know that's probably really weird, but it was so smooth and stretched taut over my bones like a drum yet soft to the touch...But damn it all to hell because rowing gave me scoliosis! In 5th and 7th grade, when you'd have to get your back felt by a creepy nurse-lady at school, I'd always get compliments on the smooth curve of my spine and how i'd make a great equestrian or diver or something. Usually, I was thought "Whatever child molester, get your cold hands off my back." But now...My back is 3° off, the doctor said it was extremely mild scoliosis, but I feel sad and diseased, my beautiful spine! Now the next time a school nurse/parent volunteer feels up my spine... their cold hands will notice the minimal degree of unevenness and I'll be so ashamed of my spine! Someone console me with a damn cookie. In other news, I had the best 3 slow dances of my life last Friday
